The BONES BASIC is back!...

Many years ago I offered a budget friendly version of the Bones guitar but it was not a popular seller.  At the time most people who were buying these guitars preferred the higher end versions that I was making.

Since 2020 the price to build guitars has gone up significantly due to inflation, economy, tariff's, & supplier's changing their manufacturing strategies.

The BONES BASIC is my attempt at offering a better value for those on a modest budget.  I have selected good quality hardware (lowest price possible before getting into junk territory).  I am opting to use a pre-made neck to shave off the 30 hours of in-house labor for that.  And for the body I am eliminating details on the back and sides of the guitar while also keeping the front looking good without getting into the many many hours of hand carving that I do on my HD version.

But here is the thing!...

These bodies are still made from the same CNC process that I make all my higher end versions from.  So they are dimensionally correct before I do any hand carving to them and that is where the competition falls FLAT. (literally!) The first problem with all those eBay imports is that they are way too flat.  If you were to compare my BASCI & HD versions you'd see where all the extra time in hand crafting is spent but the BASIC version is a very nice rendition of the bones guitar at a good price.

BODY

Poplar Wood  /  Hand carved detail on back = none  /  Hand carved details on sides = none  /  Hand carved detail on front = basic clean up and shaping.  No added texture like would be done on the HD version.  

NECK

This is the only guitar that I offer where I am not making the neck in-house.  I have sourced a nice quality budget neck for these builds
